8mm (1999) was a routine thriller and a disappointment by director Joel Schumacher. The sequel, 8mm 2 (2005), while not being a better movie, has the original beat hands down, tits-wise.

Some unexplicit sex, frequent appearances of bare boobs and the occasional post-coital deep thoughts such as "Money is the only real guarantee left" helps elevate this film from being mediocre to simply being a bad movie.

Bare breasts courtesy of the following lovely actresses: Zita Gorog, Lori Heuring, Francesca Kingdon and various extras.

If you want to watch a good film on the subject - the (under)world of pornography - I'd recommend Paul Schrader's Hardcore (1979).

Clip cut from a Russian rip. Usually, I don't mind Russian-voice over but in this case it really is annoying so I replaced the audio with a Paul Mauriat melody, Joe Dassin's L'été indien.

Maîtresse (1976) Spanking

As is so often the case with films censored in the Seventies and eventually released uncut, one wonders what all the fuss was about.

Maîtresse is the story of a dominatrix prostitute (Bulle Ogier), her boyfriend (Gérard Depardieu) and how her job affects their relationship. Many of the scenes are fairly explicit, but as the film sets out to observe, rather than make judgements, nothing feels shocking, salacious, pornographic or disturbing.

Barbet Schroeder's direction and the acting of Ogier and Depardieu are of such high quality that they allow the story to be told in the intended manner.

Some might find this style of story-telling hollow, perhaps even uninteresting, but I certainly didn't. Maîtresse is magnificent.

A: Maîtresse (1976), a 1976 French film about Love and Domination in which Gérard Depardieu is a petty thieve who falls in love with a professional dominatrix. His thieving skills are then put to unexpected use on a woman's ass.
